Antonio Conte has revealed Olivier Giroud and Eden Hazard will be deployed from the bench when Chelsea take on Huddersfield. The Chelsea boss made several changes to the side that beat Liverpool on Sunday, with Hazard and matchwinner Giroud dropping out of the starting eleven. Conte’s side need a win against Huddersfield to keep their hopes alive of beating Liverpool or Tottenham to the final Champions League spot.
Huddersfield are battling to retain their Premier League status and Conte explained such a tense game could be decided by the changes he makes in the second half. He said: ‘The form is good but I think Olivier [Giroud] spent a lot of energy in the game against Liverpool. ‘On the bench there wasn’t [Alvaro] Morata so he could rest for the last 20 minutes. He played the whole game, he finished the game exhausted.
