Sir Alex Ferguson has been released from intensive care after undergoing brain surgery over the weekend, Manchester United have confirmed. United released a fresh statement on Ferguson on Wednesday evening, revealing the Red Devils legend was making progress. Ferguson will remain in hospital to continue his recovery, but no longer requires intensive care.
A statement said: ‘Sir Alex no longer needs intensive care and will continue rehabilitation as an inpatient. ‘His family have been overwhelmed by the level of support and good wishes but continue to request privacy as this will be vital during this next stage of recovery.’ Ferguson has been surrounded by his family since being admitted to hospital and has been inundated with well wishes in the past few days.
