Manchester United’s players were left even more downbeat after their FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea following Jose Mourinho’s abrupt speech in the dressing room at Wembley. Metro.co.uk understands that Mourinho spent less than 10 minutes in the dressing room after the 1-0 loss to Antonio Conte’s side and made little attempt to galvanise his players in the aftermath of the result. It’s understood that members of United’s squad were expecting Mourinho to deliver a speech, especially as the Portuguese had insisted in his interviews after the game that his side were better than Chelsea and deserved to win. But instead, the United manager spent little time addressing his players and simply used the opportunity to thank his squad for their efforts this season and wished them well ahead of their holidays and the World Cup. Mourinho also rejected the chance to return to the team hotel in London with the players and staff after the game.
